A Tour of Homestead Studios

In case you missed it, I have a new second location at the fabulous Homestead Studios! They opened this past weekend, and I'd like to take you on a tour of this lovely 1835 farmhouse.

Back Story

Now before we take our tour, I want to clarify that this shop is not mine. I'm one of a handful of dealers there, and I have two rooms on the second floor. Tracy and Tag of Homestead Studios are the owners and they used to have a space at Pheasant Run Antiques just down the road. They were able to expand into this lovely farmhouse, and their new location officially opened last weekend.

With me so far?

Exterior

Now it's time to take a tour! Let's start with the exterior. Tracy has lots of lovely items out on the back porch, which is the public entrance. The front door of the farmhouse faces busy and bustling business route 30, so it's safer to enter through the back door.

Outside, you can find salvage items, architectural pieces, farm tools and plants.

The Candle Room at Homestead Studios

Just inside the door is Tracy's candle room. She hand pours her own delicious smelling candles, and the first floor of the farmhouse smells divine when she's working.

There are also cake style candles, taper candlesticks, lightbulbs, florals, soaps and an assortment of other goodies for sale.

Down the hallway is the checkout counter where you can find either Tracy or Tag, eager to lend a helping hand.

They're pretty easygoing...

Jeff Devlin & Schoolhouse Woodworking

Off to the right of the checkout counter is the room of Jeff Devlin. He's the host of DIY Network's Stone House Revival and an accomplished carpenter. He owns his own business called Schoolhouse Woodworking and he has several pieces for sale in his room. Jeff is old school when it comes to carpentry and he uses antique tools and the "old ways" of joining wood together.

You can pick up lots of stylish merchandise when you visit including the most comfortable baseball t-shirts ever and hats that fit Tracy's head perfectly!

Jeff will be at Homestead Studios every now and then for special functions and demonstrations. Tune in to Homestead Studios's Facebook page to learn when he's going to pop by.

To the left of the checkout counter is Tracy's other room. She's got lots of primitive goodies and antique furniture for sale, but you're going to have to come visit and see it all!

The Workshop Room

Upstairs, you'll find the workshop room where we'll be hosting all sorts of fun events. Expect wreath making, sign making, furniture painting, etc.

There's a gorgeous original chandelier hanging in the middle of the hallway. It's the only original one Tracy and Tag didn't replace, and I'm really glad they left it! To be fair though, the others that were downstairs were very dated and not as pretty as this one.

A Time To Remember

After the workshop room, you can find Lorraine of "A Time to Remember". She's the resident jewelry lady!

She's also got lots of fun antiques to sort through.

Eight Hundred Furniture's Room at Homestead Studios

Across the hall from Lorraine is my room!

I've got lots of things for you to peruse including hand-painted furniture, antiques and home decor.

To get to the rest of the other vendors, you need to walk through my space (which is actually why I chose it). I have some things in the hallway that you walk through to get to.....

the paint room! This little nook is where I'm carrying General Finishes products.

General Finishes at Homestead Studios

There's lots of Milk Paint colors to choose from.

And of course, I have Gel Stains, High Performance Topcoats, Exterior 450 and Glaze Effects.

I also have lots of helpful literature hanging in metal envelopes, free for the taking. These articles and brochures will help you get going on your next General Finishes project!

Laced in Love Creations

Right next to the paint room is the sign room, where you can see all of Danielle's lovely creations. You can follow her at Laced in Love Creations.

More Great Antique Finds

If you head back into the hallway, there is one last room to visit. This room is where you can find treasures curated by Tracy's mom and her brother-in-law, Rick.
