Magazine Style at Morgantown Market
While I was at Haven Conference back in July, I met a representative from Engaged Media Inc. You may be familiar with some of their magazine publications like Cottages & Bungalows and Romantic Homes.
After I was finished chatting with their rep, she graciously gave me free copies of the June/July issue of Flea Market Decor and the Summer issue of American Farmhouse Style. The timing couldn't have been better because I have been thinking of subscribing to a few home decor magazines to inspire in my furniture makeovers.
The last time I was cashiering at Morgantown Market, I brought the magazines with me in case we had some down time.
As I flipped through, I began to notice that a lot of the home decor items that were featured in the magazine photos were items that were currently out on the sales floor at the market! I tapped Stacey (the owner) on the shoulder and showed her page after page of items that my fellow merchants had for sale.
The fact that Morgantown Market has some pretty cool stuff for sale inside isn't news to me. I shop there all the time! But now, I can prove to you that it has the same items you see in photos from official home decor magazines!
First, let's start with the items I saw in American Farmhouse Style.
I saw this super cool 1969 vintage Airstream trailer with doilies hanging from a clothesline.

Judy of The Cinnamon Stick has oodles of those for sale in her second floor booth.
Judy also has a super cute vintage kitchen scale, just like the one sitting happily on the countertop on page 38.

I spied this gorgeous crystal chandelier in the Victorian home of Kelly Wilkniss from My Soulful Home.

Just to the left of the entrance to Morgantown Market, Vern has a chandelier similar to Kelly's hanging in his antique booth.
Later on in the issue, Janna Allbritton of Yellow Prairie Interiors shared her Oregon farmhouse style. She had a lovely sifter hanging above her living room sofa.
We've got a few of those. This one is in the super cute booth of Hindsight right by the register.
This guy is actually a tulip tray and it's hanging out in the market's outdoor display.
This little guy is tucked into Katie's Kloset to the right of the front door and the coffee machine.
If you wanted them to be white like the one in the photo, you can grab a tester pouch of Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint in Farmhouse White from my display on the second floor.
Also in Janna's Oregon farmhouse was this paper cutter.
Judy of The Cinnamon Stick has one too!
There was also a stool in Janna's master bathroom that looks very similar to this one from Hindsight's booth.
I also saw this dresser with a wire basket on top.
My buddy Allison has one with similar lines and hardware for sale in her third floor booth.

Next, let's take a peek at the items I saw in the June/July issue of Flea Market Decor.

This stack of vintage suitcases caught my eye. They're in the colorful living room of the Vallely family.

Vern (the same dealer who has the gorgeous chandelier) brought in a stack of suitcases the day that I was doing my photo shoot at the market.
Next, I spied a few items in this photo of Kim Jones's home.

Specifically, I noticed the bread molds and the white box on the coffee table. I have a white jewelry box that I recently brought into my booth. I painted it in Farmhouse White and added some age with Antiquing Wax. It has two pull out drawers, and when you open the top, it plays "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head".
And Brianna, my neighbor across the aisle, has a bread mold in her booth. This would look fabulous all shined up with some of Miss Mustard Seed's Hemp Oil!
There are also lots of old windows, screens and doors scattered all around the market both inside and outside.
In the same room of Kim's home, I noticed these file drawers sitting on a table.
Stacey (the owner of Morgantown Market) has a stash of four in the workshop room!
In the magazine issue, Kim also had an old typewriter in her home along with a pair of French crystal candlesticks. Our resident French antique lady, Kathy, has some fabulous French brass fixtures in her upstairs booth.
And fellow cashier, Cristine, has this beautiful typewriter in her space. Cristine also has a vintage Airstream that she travels in throughout the year!
There's nothing like a crisp white vintage bedspread. This one happens to be on Kim's daughter's bed.
This king sized coverlet is hanging from a lovely decorative ladder, just waiting for you to add some vintage flair to your home. Find it down the center aisle upstairs.
I saved my absolute favorite find for last. This is the Normandy home of Laurence and Daniel, and I couldn't believe what I saw in the lower right corner of the photo!

Fellow dealer, Tish, has one similar to it in her upstairs space!
Just look at that sweet face!
There were other fabulous finds that I spied throughout the magazine that are also available at Morgantown Market.
Rustic mail sorters.
Rolling pins and galvanized items galore!
Vintage cameras.
Globes.
French enamel pitchers.
And lots of woven baskets!
The tagline of Morgantown Market is "Not Your Grandma's Antique Store" and boy are they right! This antique co-op is packed with items straight out of home decor magazines.
