Primitive Scrub Top Table

This scrub top table has had my eye since the day I saw it. Much like the four drawer counter that I picked up a few weeks ago.

It went on sale and I sprung for it. This piece is truly a gorgeous primitive antique. It's one of those pieces that you definitely don't paint. Or at least I felt like it should be painted.

Instead, I gave it a hydrating dose of Miss Mustard Seed's Hemp Oil.

Hemp Oil is my absolute favorite product to use when I need to hydrate a piece that is dried out from the years.

I poured some Hemp Oil into a cup and used my designated Hemp Oil paintbrush to brush it all over the table. I used my favorite shop towels to wipe off the excess oil that didn't get absorbed.

That's all this piece really needed! It's coming with me to the Spring Barn Market sale, so if you're in the market for an adorable primitive table or writing desk, this is for you!

How about that original porcelain knob, eh?

And the top of the table has the sweetest curved shape.

I love how you can see bits of paint here and there on the table.

My favorite spots are in between the crevices on the turned legs.

The drawer is divided on the inside too!

The ironstone pitcher and bowl didn't come together, but don't they fit well?

They're really heavy too! Especially the bowl.

Here's the hallmark on the underside of the pitcher.

And this is the hallmark under the bowl. I really love this shot. The crazing on the surface showed up really well.

I'll be bringing this guy to the market too. He's probably my favorite cow wall art ever.

I mean look at him! Doesn't he have the sweetest face?

This piece will be coming with me to the Spring Barn Market at Pheasant Run Antiques and Homestead Studios on April 28th from 10-5. I hope you'll be able to make it to the market. It's a one day only event, so if you can't, I'll bring any leftovers to my booth at Morgantown Market. I'll do a post to document what is still available, so stay tuned after the market while I sort things out. I'm also still kicking around the idea of doing a workshop sale so we'll see what the coming weeks bring!
