Farmhouse White Side Table
This small side table is one that I bought with the intention of painting it for the Twin Valley Food Pantry Fundraiser back in February. It's a great little size and it had the sweetest shape! Time didn't allow me to finish it for that event, so it's coming with me on April 24th to the Spring Barn Market at Pheasant Run Antiques instead!
The wood was pretty to begin with, but you couldn't appreciate the spoon carvings on the skirt or apron of the table just underneath the top. So, I used Miss Mustard Seed's "Farmhouse White" to lighten it up.
You can see them now, can't you?
The carving on the right is actually a little off, but I like that! It gives this table a bit of character and charm.
The legs have the sweetest shape.
And there's a little rack on the bottom for more storage. You could nestle a basket under there for sure!
The top was so pretty with its scalloped edging and warm wood patina, so I left it natural and hydrated it with some Hemp Oil.
Like I mentioned, this little guy is coming with me to the Spring Barn Market on April 24th. I've had some sweet readers contact me and ask if they can purchase pieces like this and others I'm saving for the market prior to the event. Marc and I talked it out, and we've come to a good compromise.
I won't be accepting any sales prior to the event. Think about it - if I sell all my pieces before the event even starts, then I'll have a sad empty tent space, you know? Plus, I've been sending photos of these items to the hosts of the Spring Barn Market and they're advertising them for me on their social media feeds. There's an expectation that these pieces will be coming with me.
With that said, what I can do is put items on hold for buyers that want them. The event runs from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM and it's one day only. I'll hold items from 10 until noon, but after that, they get a price tag and they're open to the public. So, if you'd like to stake your claim on any of my pieces that I'll be bringing to the market, send me an email and I'll put it on hold for you. Keep in mind that after 12 noon, anyone has dibs!
For more information about the event, visit Pheasant Run's Facebook event listing here.
On a totally different note, I only have TWO seats left in my DIY Card Catalog Workshop! We'll be turning this...
Into this!
We'll be using all Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint products to give this birch wood storage piece some card catalog style for a fraction of the price it costs to buy the real deal!
Participants will use Curio brown MMS Milk Paint to stain the birch wood to give it a rich warm tone.
We'll add these adorable label holders with finger pulls to take it to that quintessential card catalog level. These are what really bring the charm!
We'll also be distressing the piece to simulate age and years of wear.
All the fun is happening on Sunday, March 18th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Morgantown Market. You can register directly online and reserve your seat by visiting Eventbrite. The cost is $65 per person and includes everything you need. If you're not local, there are lots of charming B&B's to stay at in the area, and you can enjoy some quality antique shopping while you're there! Like I said, I only have 2 spots left, so grab one while you can!
