My First "Market"
I'm pretty darn excited to share some news with you today! This year, I have decided that the time has come for me to begin participating in a few antique markets. I've been a visitor to several fabulous markets in the past and have helped Marian Parsons aka Miss Mustard Seed at Lucketts Spring Market, but I've never had a space to showcase my items all by myself.
While I helped, I conducted Milk Paint demos.
And I helped paint a piece of furniture live with Emily of Penny and Ivy.
But like I said, I've never run my own space at a market so this is kind of a big deal! I have officially signed up for two markets this year. One is in February and the other is in October. I'm waiting to hear back about a third in June.
Let's chat about the first event in February, shall we? I'll be a vendor at the annual Food for Families Fundraiser benefiting the Twin Valley Food Pantry! The event is actually a fundraiser as opposed to a market, but I'm still going to have a space where I'll be set up and selling my hand-painted furniture and Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint, of course! The public hours and details are below.
During the past weeks, I've been super busy with my Mom in the basement workshop, getting lots of pieces ready for the fundraiser. Most of them are brand new and haven't been out on the sales floor yet, so if you pop by the event, you'll have first dibs on brand new merchandise! I'll be taking photos as they are ready and as the light cooperates. I was excited to stage a few pieces today, however we had cloudy skies here in PA, so I suppose their debut will have to wait until tomorrow.
I'm also working with the event coordinator to schedule a FREE MMS Milk Paint demonstration on Saturday. Once I have the details, I'll be sure to share them with all of you. If you haven't been able to attend any of my demonstrations in the past, this is the perfect opportunity to see Milk Paint in action and ask questions.
All the fun starts on Friday, February 2nd and continues to Saturday, February 3rd. Stay tuned to see the gorgeous pieces that will be coming with me. If you see any you like, keep in mind that I'll be donating a portion of my profits to the Twin Valley Food Pantry, so your purchases will be going towards a good cause!
Cheers to big steps and new events!
