Lucketts And Recent Happenings
First, let me send out a HUGE thank you to everyone who recently subscribed to my blog. My notifications were going off left and right (in a good way) and it felt like a virtual *hug* every time! It means the world to me that you want to hear about my furniture world and follow along with my stories.
Second, I want to preempt this Lucketts recap post by stating that I didn't have any time to take pictures of my own. I was so busy doing Milk Paint demonstrations and restaging her space that my camera stayed in my backpack all weekend.
Even though I was busy, I had an absolute blast!
For my recap, I'm basically going to send you to Miss Mustard Seed's blog and you can read her posts to see how things went.
It kind of feels like "blog cheating" but Marian really did such a good job at covering the whole weekend that it seems silly for me to do it too. Plus, she has all the pretty pictures!
So that leads me to what's been happening since I've been back. On Monday, my family and I attended the funeral of my grandfather in Maryland. It was a sad day but it was nice to be together as a family. He lived to be 92 years old, so he had a long full life. My sister and I were close with both of my father's parents and they've been in my life as long as I've been alive.
Here I am sitting on his lap when I was a baby. Fun fact - my Dad wanted to name me Rebecca but Poppy (as we called him) looked at me and decided that I looked like a Jennifer instead. So you could have been reading a blog by Recebba Baker if it weren't for him!
After such a long weekend at Lucketts and the emotions from the funeral, I was physically and emotionally spent by the time Tuesday rolled around. Our laundry was overflowing and our apartment was a disaster zone. I spent the day organizing while the cat cuddled with me in between loads of laundry.
Wednesday was exciting because I did my first Milk Paint demonstration at my new satellite location at Painted Table Designs in Elverson. I joined forces with owner and designer, Brenda Shirk, and I'll be selling Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint here in addition to covering the shop 2 days a week.
I spent Wednesday out on the cozy porch blowing up social media with Instagram stories and posts showing all the fun things you can do with Milk Paint. If you don't already follow me on Instagram, I can be found at "eight.hundred.furniture"
I'm trying to be diligent with stories and taking videos showing different techniques and projects. Today, for example, my Instagram story is about using Hemp Oil to revive some wood breadboards Brenda picked up at Lucketts. (Yes, she came!)
I also manage the Instagram feed for Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint, so I've been busy there too.

As it's nearing 4:00, my first work shift at Painted Table is wrapping up. It's been slow due to a gloomy rainy day here in Elverson, but it's so nice to be surrounded by pretty things.
My next painting project is currently underway and I'll share photos when it's done. I'm painting my bedroom nightstand in Grain Sack and it's going on just perfectly.
