One Piece At A Time
There's been a lot going on in my neck of the woods since my last post. During the past two weeks, I've been knocking out projects like an Olympian boxer.
(Marc and I have been watching the Olympics every night. I may or may not cry at every "Thanks, Mom" commercial...)
I've also been meeting with professionals to help me structure Eight Hundred to align with my business goals. Marc and I have been praying for God to surround us with godly counsel, and He has been delivering! God has been incredibly faithful as Marc and I have had meetings with accountants, lawyers, and insurance agents.
On top of all of that, I'm gearing up to lead an Inductive Bible study this Fall on Isaiah, which if you didn't know, has a LOT of chapters.
My mantra through all of this has been, "one piece at a time."
It's like the saying, how do you eat an elephant? The answer is one bite at a time.
It would be very easy for me to get overwhelmed and to start slacking off, but I'm learning that time spent on my knees in prayer and humbly asking God to help me is the only way that I can manage.
One piece at a time.
One prayer at a time.
So let's get to the pretty things I've been working on during the past few weeks.
There's this baby buffet that I picked up at a consignment store not too far away from me in Oxford. It had the prettiest details and was just the right size for the shop.

I used Annie Sloan's Chateau Grey to paint the body and a complimentary Country Grey to highlight some choice parts.
I'm very pleased with how it turned out.
It's got a nice open body to store linens, silverware, tureens, and anything else you have on hand.
And here's the details one last time (I promise).

In addition to this little guy, I finished off a pair of Pennsylvania House end tables.
Aren't they just the cutest? They're wearing Paris Grey with white wax.
These were fun to stage too. Natasha had brought in some succulents to stage her green sideboard. I snagged them to adorn these little cuties.
We had some fun bubbled glass knobs that were just the right touch to round out their new look.
I'm thinking about calling them Pippa and Kate.
And finally, I gave a little bench a much-needed makeover with some Old White Chalk Paint® and grain sack striped fabric.
I especially like how the fabric plays off of the Old White.
It's super cushy too thanks to some high-density foam and batting.
Plenty of cushion for your tush!
I finished it off with some light distressing on the edges to complete it's farmhouse look.
