Start to Finish Series - Part 4 - Meet Gretel

Welcome to the final post in my Start to Finish series. Today is the grand reveal! Hopefully you have gained some good tips and inspiration along the way and are ready to try some new products and techniques on your pieces.

You can catch up on the rest of the series here:

After you have sealed your beautiful project, it's time to decide if you're going to sell it or keep it. I have decided to sell my little cabinet (although it was quite tempting to keep it).

At Love Street, we name our pieces. Based upon my original vision to see this cabinet in a country cottage up in the mountains, I decided to name her Gretel.

Here is her before head shot. Quite an improvement, wouldn't you say?

The white wax did a nice job on the entire piece, but I especially like the effect it gave the top. It's subtle but it seals the deal for me.

Now I don't claim to be an expert on staging or photography, so if you need suggestions on taking pictures for your pieces, head over to Miss Mustard Seed's blog and look at her photography series. She has excellent ideas that I draw from constantly. I believe the first post in the series is about staging furniture, so have fun reading up!

In the meantime, let's continue to drool over how Gretel turned out.

Those legs are just the cutest! Remember when they were hanging up in the air while I was painting?

This gal has plenty of storage inside too. I left the interior unfinished on purpose. I feel it gives a nice color contrast and the wood is so rustic and unique that I wanted it to sing all on its own.

So there you have it folks - one project from start to finish. Now it's your turn. #ProveYourselfWrong and get started!
