My First Dresser is Finished!

I have to say, the series on this dresser has been quite drawn out, but it's finally finished! If you want to catch up on the posts leading up to the reveal, you can read about them here:

I've had a few bridal showers going on these past few weeks and I made gifts for the brides instead of getting them something from their registries. I figured God has blessed me with a gift, so that is what I want to give to others! Now that the showers have passed, it was time to finish off my first dresser makeover.

I now present to you the final installment of the Dresser Saga!

...so dramatic...

When we left the dresser, I had applied the final coat of Persian Blue by General Finishes.

I decided to use Clear Vax as the topcoat and it went on pretty quickly. I applied three coats to ensure maximum protection - especially on the top.

My knobs came in from Hobby Lobby yesterday, so I plowed through the bubble wrap and screwed them in.

The drawers were loosely lined with shelf paper that I purchased from my local Dollar General. $3.25 for three rolls. You can't beat it! I chose not to adhere the liner in the event that the future owner prefers a different pattern. I thought this classic black-and-white floral pattern added a feminine touch.

I gently tapped the original casters back into place,

and staged her for her big debut!

I still admire the details on this piece from the vertical grooves along the side

to the carving on the drawer

to the crowning jewel on top.

Look at that detail! You don't see furniture like that at IKEA (no offense).

So here's her journey from before:

to after:

She's ready for your most treasured possessions, your fashionable wardrobe, and will bring a touch of old school class to your home.
