A Handy-Dandy Brush
Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting the Mustard Seed Studio to spend some time with Marian and Kriste of Rosemary and Thyme. We had a delightful time and along with the valuable insight I gained, the eye candy I feasted on that is Mustard Seed Studio, and the laughs that we shared, I also was able to take home my very own Parsons West brush.
Marian and Shaunna launched their brushes this week. If you missed their posts, you can see Marian's here and Shaunna's here.
I was very eager to give this little brush a test run, so I used it to apply the final coat of paint on my antique dresser.
One of the things that made this brush different than my other brushes is the handle. It's carved in such a way that it "nuzzles" into the crook of your thumb.
I've painted large pieces before and have gotten hand cramps from having to hold the handle for so long. I've had to change my grip and even shake my hand out like I had writer's cramp on a high school essay. I definitely didn't have any problems with this brush.
One of the other benefits is the shape of the bristles - it's a sash brush, so they're set at an angel. This makes them perfectly suited for getting into nooks like those along the side of my dresser.
It was easy as cake getting into the decorative molding on the front.
Overall I'm very happy with how this brush performed and I foresee myself reaching for it over my other brushes quite frequently in the future. In the words of their slogan: one brush. change things!
